The Retask Process

Describe. Teach. Deploy.

Three steps. No integrator. Your plant manager runs all of them. Most retasks complete in under four hours.

The three-step interface

What the operator sees at each step.

The task editor walks through configuration, teach capture, and deployment confirmation. Each panel below represents one step.

Full walkthrough

What actually happens, step by step.

From opening the task editor to first production cycle. Timings are median from 8 early-access pilot sites.

Power on and position the arm
5-10 minutes

Mount the arm at the target station using the quick-mount base. Connect single-phase power and the EtherNet/IP cable to the plant controller. The system boots and runs a self-diagnostic within 90 seconds.

Open the task editor and select the task type
5 minutes

The task editor runs on a wall-mounted tablet or any networked browser on the plant floor. Select pick-and-place, palletizing, assembly assist, or inspection. Set the gripper preset and target waypoint count. The system initializes the motion envelope.

Enable teach mode and guide the arm
30-60 minutes

Press the enable button on the wrist control surface. The arm goes compliant. Guide it by hand through the intended motion path. At each waypoint, press record. The depth camera scans the workspace at each recorded position, building the obstacle map and grip envelope.

Run three confirmation cycles
20-30 minutes

The arm executes the recorded trajectory at reduced speed. The task editor prompts for operator confirmation after each cycle. On the third confirmation, the collision-aware trajectory is locked. You can adjust individual waypoints between cycles if the path needs refinement.

Review the deploy panel and approve
5 minutes

The deploy panel shows task type, waypoint count, trial-run results, collision-check status, and safety zone confirmation. All items must show PASS or READY before the Approve button activates. Review and approve. The arm enters production mode at full speed.

First production run
Running

The arm begins executing the approved task at full production speed. I/O handshake with the PLC activates. The task editor switches to a live monitoring view. Cycle time, pick success rate, and any stop events log per cycle to the connected controller.

Integration details

What connects to what.

The arm talks to your plant infrastructure over standard industrial protocols. No custom gateway hardware required.

PLC communication
EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP
Standard I/O handshake. Works with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi controllers.
Task editor access
Browser-based, plant LAN
No software install. Any tablet or workstation on the plant network. Supports Chrome, Edge, Firefox.
Depth camera data
On-arm, structured light
Point cloud processed locally. No external vision PC. No cloud inference round-trip.
Task data logging
EtherNet/IP register map
Cycle time, pick status, and stop events write to controller registers per cycle. Standard SCADA-compatible.
Power requirement
110/240 VAC single-phase
No 3-phase circuit required. Standard 20A outlet with supplied cable. Controller box included.
Safety I/O
Dual-channel, PLd Cat 3
E-stop and enable signals over safety-rated I/O. Connects to existing safety relay or safety PLC on the plant floor.
